Tuesday, September 19th - Monday, September 25th

So I shall do this weekly letter pretty fast since I am running out of time

so more or less I had a good last week in San Ramon, and I got transferred over here to La Trinidad in Estili. I am with elder Suares. Let's see how everything goes. I will probably write more next week. Thanks for reading everyone!

Elder Vogt didn't have as much time this week to correspond. Here is a bit more information that was sent in the family emails:

* He found out over the weekend that he'd be transferred to La Trinidad in Estili (about 1+ hour west of Matagalpa). He says that the terrain is very similiar to San Ramon
* His new companion - Elder Suares is from Brazil and arrived in Nicaragua at the same time he did (except he was in the Brazil MTC so they didn't know each other beforehand)

* In his new zone is Elder Fankhauser (who he was in a trio with for a bit back in Matagalpa) and his first District Leader (in Managua), Elder Najera

* This is what he had to say about his new house: "The house is pretty nice, decent size and looks alright."

* Sadly, he left his wallet on the Bus!! It has everything in it! His debit card, drivers license, Mission money and his Nicaragua residence card

* He said a time this week that he felt the spirit was when he was saying goodbye to some of the people there in San Ramon as he was sharing his testimony with them

Tuesday, September 12th - Monday, Septebmer 18th

So this was a pretty eventful week.

Lets start out with Tuesday

So Tuesday we had the District meeting, and I ended up giving the message (I shared about Charity for the people in our areas), so we did that and then afterwards we went on Divisions with Elder Baez and his companion Elder Davis. So I stayed in San Ramon and Elder Garcia headed over to Matagalpa. The day went okay, but starting at like 6 it started to rain heavy and the lights went out, so we took shelter in the house of a member, and the rain didn't let up even at 9. So we were driven home in their car. The lights kept going out like 6 different times, but once we got back the lights were good and pretty steadily on.

Wednesday we ended the Division, and then we worked like normal with Elder Garcia. We had dinner with a member who lives a bit far, but it was nice. So we took the bus back and sent in some records. Then I went to bed, but Garcia stayed up a bit.

Thursday. So when I woke up I saw a note on my desk. My Companion made me a Congratz 1 year card since today was my 1 year mark in the Mission. So that was a nice little gift. I enjoyed it a lot (and I realized why he stayed up a little bit later then me!) So for the day, well we just worked like normal. Nothing really special. But it was good haha.

Friday, Well it started off with...well breaking a phone. It's a long story but the short version is it fell in the toilet... yeah....we had some left over money from the past 15 days so instead of getting a junky half broken one from the Zone Leaders that they have lying in their house we bought a new one. Shhhh no one can know about this haha. Well they can, but still. So we worked and all and yeah.

Saturday, we started off the day with some service. A member wanted to plant some more stuff in a garden but needed more dark soil. So we ended up hauling a lot of soil a good distance away from another member so she could have it. Then we were invited to another member's house to have Sopa de Mondongo. So for those of you who wanna know a bit more of that. It's intestine soup. It wasn't bad - I didn't love it, but didn't mind it. Intestines have kind of a clam flavor to them, similar texture too, but a bit more fatty. Just don't think of what process they are used for in the cow and it's fine.

Sunday, so while getting ready for church we got a call that Garcia needs to go to Managua tomorrow to receive his Residence card. Then we went to church, and afterwards to a lookout point here in San Ramon.

Today (Monday) well I shall just give a brief description of our day as we traveled to and from Managua. We took a taxi to Matagalpa, Taxi to the bus station, bus to Managua, bus to the Migration center, stayed there for 3 hours doing nothing, taxi to lunch, taxi to the bus station again, bus to Matagalpa, taxi to a certain point where we got off because we saw a convert who called us and needed help (and then literally we passed by them in the taxi as we were talking on the phone!). Then another taxi to the taxis to San Ramon, then another taxi to San Ramon. And now we are here emailing at the cyber cafe.

So I guess in other news in regards to how I feel. Well, I have been on my Mission for 1 year now. It's been quite the journey, but I'm glad I'm here. I hope that I have been able to touch the lives of some people. Because really, that's why I'm here - to help out the best that I can. I'm looking forward to another year helping out. I know at times it's a bit stressful or a bit discouraging, but the more good we can do - the better! Oh, and this past year also brought the loss of 50 pounds!

Tuesday, September 5th - Monday, Septebmer 11th

So here goes the weekly happenings from good ol San Ramon.

So starting off here on Tuesday. Well just work like normal not much new and writing worthy.

Wednesday we had a District meeting and then the Zone leaders came over here to do a baptismal interview with the mother of one of our recent converts here. Also I received a package from my parents that they sent off a good while ago. It was a nice little gift and I enjoyed it a lot. Though those sweets - They be good.

Thursday we held an activity in the church. We do things called Noche De Hermanamiento here. And we had a short spiritual message, and then had games. Kinda like a family home evening but with lots of people at the church. It went well.

Friday went up to an area in bus...and i left the bus without my umbrella, so now  I gotta look for a new one or end up getting wet. But oh well haha. We also had a small family home evening with our investigator who was planned to get baptized tomorrow.

Saturday. Well Spoiler Alert. We had a baptism. It went well, and it was a small thing but very pretty.

Sunday. While walking around passing for people to remind them of church a dog snuck up behind me and bit my leg. So yeah. Luckily didn't break the pants. So that's all good haha. Had church, confirmed the person who was baptized, and was a good day.

Today didn't do anything really.

Though news wise. I hit 1 year this Thursday, which is also like the same time as the revolution day here. So that's cool. Kinda like a 4th of July.

Tuesday, August 29th - Monday, September 4th

So due to demands and requests by all my fans I shall start in on my weekly email.

So we started off Tuesday with a District meeting. It went all pretty normal. Just doing the normal stuff there.  Then afterwards we came here and went to a new area in which We've never gone before, and we had good sucess there. Finding a couple new people, and it was a nice change to find somewhere new.

So Wednesday We had some good appointments and so we went and taught that. There are 2 cousins (who are family of some converts of mine here) and they are learning a lot, and have lots of questions so we end up teaching them for hours on end, and it is super awesome to have some people super progressing as things go.

Thursday we shared some videos of the restoration with some of our investigators and it went really nice. And it was the birthday of our neighbors (who are the members) So they invited us over for dinner, and I had good meat and potatoes (he is from Peru, and is a super good cook! So it was a nice treat)

Friday well was just a normal work day same with Saturday not much interesting going on.

Sunday we had church and it went well. We had the mom of one of the converts come, and we were talking about her baptism and all and she seems plenty pumped to do it.

And today....Well I guess all I can say is I broke a window in the church. I was teaching the people here a game that we used to play for mutual, called Chair Soccer, more or less you have a chair and protect it while trying to hit other people's chairs with the ball. I went a little too hard, and Boom! The ball went to the window. But on the bright side. I paid to replace the part that shattered, and it only cost 2 dollars. So it's all good. And then went out to lunch and now we be writing. Thanks everyone.
