HAPPY NEW YEAR!
2018
So I guess I shall start this week off with a good ol Tuesday.
So Tuesday is when we had our district meeting. It went alright and nicely. So we had that then
we went out to visit the people. Had our lunch, and they have a pool
table there, so I ended up playing a quick game with my comp. We are
about even. So it was a nice fun thing to do.
Wednesday.
Well we had a pretty low key day, just walking around getting to know
more people and visiting even more. Not very eventful. But we had a good
time with our lunch family for the day. And we worked a whole lot. A
bit more than normal. But it went nicely.
Thursday. It was a thursday what more can I say.
Friday.
Everyone was messaging us "Hey do you got money yet?" Since we were the
closest to the ATM so we left the house in search of money! And we
totally got it! So that was good. We got to give the good news to
everyone. Getting things ready for this weekend.
Saturday
there were 2 baptisms in the stake so we went there to help support the
people getting baptized. It was a nice event. Wasn't that big, but it's
great to see the people changing their lives.
Sunday.
Yesterday. Happy new years eve. So the day consisted of the church. A
lunch. Mmmm lunch. Then visting some members wishing a happy new years
eve. Then first dinner. Playing some Uno with them. Then vising a family
and second dinner. In the house of that family were 2 ex sister
missionaires who served here a couple years ago. So we got to meet them.
They were just making their rounds for their old areas (and came to go to the Temple with this family) and ended up
being here for new years eve. It felt weird and made me think - Hey I
wonder if something like this will happen after my mission. I come back
to visit and chill with the missionaries there. But oh well. Then came
new years. And man it was pretty nice. Not as much fireworks as when I
was in Managua last year, but still pretty cool. They also have the tradition here of making Scarecrows and burning them on New Years.
So
happy new years everyone. I hope everyone can just be motivated to make
the necessary changes this year to live a better life. And Hey I can
say to people now. I'll be going home this year. Thanks for all of your
support. and have an amazing 2018!
Love, Elder Vogt
